Going glam
Ever since I was a child, playing dress up was a big deal – and one of my favorite things to do. Making a huge mess of my mom's walk-in closet was a much-loved childhood activity (though thinking back she probably hated the chaos I created...), and that love of going glam once in a while has stayed with me – though I have a much better sense of style now than I did when I was five. To celebrate glamour, this week's picks are all about playing dress up with a roundup of some of the prettiest little glam finds online. From cocktail frocks to sky high heels to awesome accessories, check out these six stunning styles.

Must-have heels
Every glamour girl needs a great pair of heels, the kind that make you walk with a purpose and maybe even strut a little. Being on the more petite side, I tend to own many pairs of heels, but when it comes to really dressing up, I need to go sky high and ultra-fabulous. Check out these nude leather House of Harlow peep toe pumps (Lori's Shoes, $214) with a vintage-twist and decorative stitching. Very sexy.
Make-a-statement necklace
Depending on the neckline of your party princess dress, a statement necklace can really put your look over the top (in a good way). I tend to gravitate towards things with lots of bling, like this gorgeous Sorrelli multi-strand necklace (Max & Chloe, $165) featuring a collage of black crystals of various shapes.
Yes, I'll have another cocktail ring
The consummate high gloss accessory, I have always loved cocktail rings. Larger than life and oh-so-glamorous, I love to bust these babies out any time a fancy dress is required. I couldn't help but fall in love with this sparkling Kenneth Jay Lane ring (Zappos.com, $90) with a gorgeous, gleaming green stone.
Small but scene-stealing clutch
I admit it – I'm not usually a clutch girl. I prefer tote bags with enough room to carry roughly 30 percent of what I own. But going glam means ditching the oversize bag for something much more sophisticated, not to mention smaller. I've been eyeing up this textured metallic clutch in a muted shade of charcoal (Nicole Miller, $225) for my next summer soiree.
Sophisticated cocktail frock
I'm a firm believer that everyone needs a cocktail dress suitable for even the most refined event – something simple yet so well made it feels like it was made for you and you alone. You slip it on, it fits like a glove and you look spectacular. This beautifully draped, understated silk dress (Theory, $325) fits the bill nicely.
Life of the party dress
Along with a more sophisticated option, I also think it's important to have a dress that gives you some edge, turns heads and makes you feel like you're the belle of the ball. I'm really into one-shoulder dresses lately, and I love this ultra-sparkly style (Alice + Olivia, $495) that's sure to cause a stir.
