Girly Summer Styles
Welcome to Pretty Little Things, where each week we bring you our picks for the prettiest little things online. If we love it, you'll be the first to know! This week we look at all things girly, from bows to ruffles to lace.
Ditching denim for dresses
I don't consider myself a girly girl. Jeans and T-shirts are my go-to fashion favorites for most of the year, but there's something about summer that brings out my girly side. I ditch denim for dresses and plain T-shirts for ruffles, lace and bows. I can't help it – sunshine makes me want to wear things that have a feminine, flirty vibe. Here are a few of my current must-have pieces for going girly this summer.
Ravishing in ruffles
The epitome of girly style, this pink sleeveless tunic (Top Shop, $40) with a tiered hem and ruffle collar is going to make a fun, flirty addition to my summer wardrobe. Casual, comfortable and oh-so-feminine, I can picture tossing this over my swimsuit before hitting the beach or heading to the pool.
I cannot wait to wear this adorable strapless romper (Nordstrom, $44) with flounced ruffles circling the elasticized top. It comes in black or light blue but I'm partial to the blue and plan to pair this girly look with wedge sandals and oversized shades.
This textured silk halter (Ann Taylor, $78) will make a great addition to my girly summer staples. The cascading ruffle down the front is subtle and adds just enough feminine charm to an otherwise simple yet stylish sleeveless summer top.
