So you're having a great conversation with your date. You hit the powder room, only to find your lips looking ghost-like. The alternative? You buy those "stays on for a thousand years but you might need to chisel it off" lipsticks that make you feel like your lips are in the Sahara.
the solution for lips
Created by makeup artists David Klasfield and Katie Pellegrino, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar has been seen on The Today Show and in major beauty magazines like WWD, Marie Claire, Nylon and Zink. Celebrity fans include Lady Gaga, Jeannie Mai, Margaret Cho, Lindsay Lohan and the entire cast of RuPaul's Drag Race.
OCC Lip Tars require the tiniest bit of product -- a bead the size of half an ice cream sprinkle -- to give you full pigment, and they stay on beautifully. For sheerer coverage, buff with your finger. You can even top with gloss. (Gloss does make color fade more quicky, but these work like a stain if you buff them in.)
These lip colors come in every shade imaginable, including "Hush"(a soft, natural bridal pink), "NSFW" (the perfect red) and "Trollop" (a beautiful cranberry coral). They even have colors like black, blue, yellow and green for mixing and effects. And... you can create your own color. (My current favorite mix is a dab of the bright red "Strutter" with a bit of the pale pink "Hush.")
Lip Tars are comfortable to wear, thanks to hemp oil, peppermint oil and vitamin E. They're not going to shred your lips. But again, use only a little. Will it to your grandchildren: These little tubes last forever.
The OCC line is 100 percent vegan and cruelty free, and the company offers a great assortment of cruelty-free brushes.
OCC Lip Tars are available on occmakeup.com and sell for $13. The colors are exactly what you see on the site!
