Basic blue jeans have become anything but basic. Every year brings with it new trends, and the denim dos and don’ts for 2010 have fallen prey to the dos and don’ts for 2011. To keep yourself from looking passe, incorporate at least one or two of this year’s trends into your 2011 wardrobe.

Do roll your cuffs

Yes, it's very 80s, but rolled cuffs were all over the spring 2011 fashion runways. If you plan on rolling your denim yourself, start with a straight-legged pair of jeans, or cut off a flared leg at the top of the flare to start the roll; rolling a flared pant leg leads to an awkward and uneven look.
