Your skin has been hibernating all winter – and now it is time to show it off in flirty floral dresses. Jene Luciani, style expert for the Today show and author of The Bra Book says that the new spring trends are playful and feminine. This season you will find dresses that are "flirty and fun in lightweight fabrics like chiffon and tulle and of course, lace!"
Although short and flirty sundresses are also trendy, this season the long maxi dress has made a return in a big way. "It's all about a gorgeous and exotic printed maxi!" says Luciani. "Whether a skirt or a dress, the maxi length is key. Pair with the cage high heel sandals for a long, lean and gorgeous silhouette!"
Smooth on some sunless tanner to get a warm glow and show off your gorgeous shoulders and arms. "Show skin on top – that's the place to be bare," says Luciani.
Feminine details, such as lace, as well as romantic and flowing fabrics are a big trend for spring. Luciani says to also look for dresses with "lots of pleating, ala Mad Men."
"Look for vertical pleats for the most elongating effect," she recommends.
Other spring trends include bohemian styles, mix and match prints (such as florals mixed with plaids) and bright and bold colors. Crochet details give a vintage and romantic look and are a hot look this spring. Look for floral dresses with these crochet or lace details on the hemline or neckline.
Floral accessories, such as gladiator sandals with flower accents, or a flower broach that is placed on an accent belt, headband or purse adds just the right touch with your floral dress.
