DIY Blow Outs
A great blow out lasts for days and always looks chic. Unfortunately, scoring super sleek strands via salon blow outs can really add up. Don’t despair. We’ve put together a quick how-to that even the most tress-challenged beauty novice can follow.
Here are our simple four secrets to the best DIY blow out techniques:
BRUSH OFFStart at the nape of the neck and place a round brush (medium size for short or large for longer hair) under a 1-inch section of your hair. The bristles should be directly under your roots.
DOWN LOWBlast the section of hair with your dryer while pulling the brush from root to end. R
emember to keep the nozzle downward – this is ensures that the air will flatten the cuticle. Repeat for each section of hair.
HIT THE FLATOnce hair is completely dry, divide it into 1-inch sections starting at the nape of the neck. Spritz on a styling spray like bumble & bumble Styling Lotion and follow with a hot flatiron in slow motions. Be sure not to stop – it creates dents in the hair.
SHINE ONFinish the look with a light layer of oil or shine serum. We love Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray. Find out how to get the best hairstyle for you >> See hairstyle photos for more inspiration >> |
