Along with the above, a low-glycemic, low-carb diet rich in healthy fats such as avocado, olive oils, etc., is beneficial to the skin. For example, avocados are full of vitamin E, vitamin C, lutein, several B vitamins and niacin, all of which have been shown to be good for hair and skin, Heimowitz expains.
Alternatively, a diet high in sugar or high-glycemic carbohydrates can eventually cause your skin to become stiff and brittle over time, resulting in a loss of elasticity, wrinkles and sagging.
