Winter haircare

The cold air outside and the dry heated air inside can really do a number on your hair and skin in the wintertime. Follow these haircare tips to revive dry, brittle hair and get healthy hair again.

Winter hair1Drink up

Water hydrates your body (and your hair!) and helps get rid of impurities. Up your normal water intake in the winter in order to stay hydrated and healthy.

2Humidify the air

Use a humidifier in your home to add moisture to the air. A humidifier isn't expensive and is worth the investment because of the money you'll save on moisturizing hair and skincare products.

3Nourish with botancials

Look for hair products containing oils, plant extracts and other botanical ingredients to nourish dry, damaged hair naturally.

4Use a dandruff shampoo

Control dry, itchy scalp and dandruff with regular use of gentle dandruff shampoo. You don't need to use it every day -- just once a week should be enough to keep the flakes away.

5Don't rub

Rubbing your hair vigorously with a towel causes breakage and frizz. Instead, blot the water out of your hair. Also, try to avoid blow dryers and flat irons as much as possible to keep your hair healthy.
