Chic, sleek, metal-rimmed aviator sunglasses were hot all year long, for both men and women. This is a fresh, stylish look in comparison to the gigantic, oversized plastic frames that have been popular in recent years.
Ruffles, ruffles, everywhere. It seems like everything had ruffles in 2010 and we liked it! Ruffles are flirty, feminine and fun. Ruffled dresses and blouses should continue to be popular throughout 2011, but we might see less of the ruffled handbags and shoes that have become trendy.
Fur was back in a big way in 2010 in the form of faux fur jackets, coats, vests, hats and other accessories. Even handbags and shoes were accented in faux fur. Fur (and fake fur) are so luxurious and fun to wear, we expect the trend to stay for a while.
Tribal prints and other bold, worldly patterns were big in 2010, particularly in dresses. Though in 2011, we will see more watercolor prints and other abstract patterns, we hope the bright Aztec, African, Native and other tribal patterns of 2010 will be popular again this year.
