Go Gold Or Bold

With the busy holiday season and New Year’s approaching, many of us are invited to parties to celebrate the season. Updating your makeup to be festive and fabulous can be easy with these simple steps:

golden makeupPrep the base

Start by creating a base for flawless skin. Apply a primer before your foundation to set your makeup. The newest primers also have color and skin correcting elements to them. A few to try are Stila Hydrating Primer SPF 15 or Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Primer. Smashbox has green tones to minimize redness or lavender for dull or sallow skin.

Airbrush foundation

Next, apply an airbrush foundation, either from a can or from an at-home airbrush machine. Airbrush makeup applies lighter, but offers great coverage and makes skin look dewy and glowing. Women often try to apply "party makeup" with a heavier hand, so the airbrush makeup is an excellent choice to avoid a cakey look, and even makeup that can creep into lines and wrinkles. Some to try from a can are Sally Hansen Airbrush Makeup or Dior AirFlash. At home machines to check out are Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup or TEMPTU Airbrush Makeup System.

Choose your look

Next, choose from a combination of looks. For party sparkle, try a shimmery, smokey eye using silvers and blacks, paired with a soft nude or pink lip. To play up your eyes, try a little cream highlighter to the insides of your eyes to soften the look. For a softer glow, try simple eyes paired with radiant cheeks. To get this look, apply pink blush to the apples of your cheeks followed with liquid highlighter applied in a C-shape from your temples to your cheeks. Not only will this sculpt your cheeks, but it will highlight your face as well.

try a holiday glow

For a classic golden holiday glow, add gold makeup to your look. Try a golden eye shadow with bronze cheeks and lips. Or mix liquid gold shimmer to liquid foundation for golden, luminous skin. Remember to use gold on only one part of the face, or you will look like you are wearing a Halloween costume.

the classic look

A classic Christmas look is flawless skin, simple mascara partnered with bold, red lips.

Seal it

Finally, spray your face with a makeup sealer, such as All Nighter by Urban Decay. These will assure that your makeup stays in place while you party the night away.

You are kidding right. Whoever did her makeup should be fired. She looks like she went to the tanning salon with a sleep mask on. I like the eyes and lips but that toning is to much
