Red Sole Takes It

More than 8,000 consumers weighed in on Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti to determine who has the sexiest shoe of the year. No surprise: Christian Louboutin took the title. Who else but the man who became infamous by innovating the sexy red sole?

Last-minute inspiration

The red sole on high heels was a last-minute idea (using nail polish!) to give the shoe more interest and appeal. Since then, Louboutin has changed the way women walk. Flats have been put aside for four-inch stilettos, and celebrities wear a new pair every day of the week.

In this year's sexiest shoe contest, Christian Louboutin's crystal-embellished, mesh peep-toe pump was the shoe that took the win for the Frenchman. And you can see why.
