The green queens at Better Organic Choice (BOC) recently rummaged through the makeup bags of the SheKnows crew in search of toxic products. What did they find? And what do they recommend? Read on!

Favorite: Philosophy's Hope in a Jar moisturizer

BOC Feedback: This cult favorite moisturizer contains two parabens, propylene glycol and triethanolamine.

Suggestion: Swap it for an active natural moisturizer like Arcona Magic White Ice or The Organic Pharmacy Double Rose Rejuvenating Cream.

Favorite: Burt's Bees lip balm Great choice

BOC Feedback: Perfect. This balm is BOC-approved!

Suggestion: If you're looking for an organic version, try Yes to Carrots C Me Smile organic lip butter.

Favorite: Maybelline stick concealer

BOC Feedback: Contains propyl-, butyl- and methyl-parabens.

Suggestion: As a celebrity makeup artist I used this for years. When I decided to green my kit I switched to Mineral Fusion concealer infused with pomegranate and green tea extracts.
