British actress Emma Watson rose to fame playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. As she has gotten older, Watson has been focusing more on fashion and style. In 2009, she became the new face of Burberrry. She is also involved in the fair trade fashion brand, People Tree, as a creative director. She has grown up from a frizzy-haired, geeky sidekick to a gorgeous fashion star.

Fashion as a social statement

"Fashion is a great way to empower people and give them skills; rather than give cash to charity you can help people by buying the clothes they make and supporting things they take pride in," she said. "I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren't many options out there."

Emma Watson's signature look

On the red carpet, she dazzles in gowns adorned with crystals and ruffles. For her day-to-day apparel, her preference is skinny jeans, fitted blazers (or unique trench coats) and ballet flats. Anyone can emulate this look — it's casual without being sloppy.
