Seasonal sexiness

Summer creates cravings for a whole new look -- a luxury many of us can't rationalize right now. Luckily, we can dress many of summer's must-have pieces up or down by mixing them with each other or with things you already have in your wardrobe.

Sundress

Designer denim

For a day out with the kids, pair jeans with a studded tank or boyfriend-style button-down. The best thing about denim: With the right accessories, it can be adapted for any situation.

Girls' night out

If you need a more glamorous turn for your next ladies' night on the town, pair your favorite jeans with gladiator wedges, a ruffled blouse and a clutch with a chain.

Daytime parties

Summer sunshine opens the door to a new genre of party possibilites. Try a sundress in a floral print. Jazz it up for a date night with a colorful clutch, strappy heels and layered necklaces. This look easily goes into night with a fun shawl or cardigan.

Weekend warrior

Fashion doesn't end when the work week stops: In fact, it takes on new life! Pair a kimono-style tunic with leggings and flat sandals for Saturday errands. Transition the tunic to a night out by pairing with skinny white jeans, oversized jewelry and sky-high wedges.

All-around awesome

The maxi dress is a must-have in your closet. Already have one? Go out and buy another! Comfortable, versatile and flattering, it can pull, double, triple and quadruple duty. Throw it on over a bathing suit, cover it up with a cropped denim jacket and gladiator sandals, or dress it up with a shawl, stilettos and fun jewelry for evenings. At that level of function, how can you not stock up?
