Unhappy with the skin around your eyes? Join the club. Wrinkles, discoloration, puffiness, you name it - for most women, the skin around our eyes is a chronic problem area. The eye cream market is a crowded one, with a lot of products making a lot of big claims so we tested them out and are happy to share what we found.
Givenchy Radically No Surgetics Eye Treatment Day & Night
Cost: $100 Buy online: Givenchybeauty.com What we found: A power-packed day and night cream duo, our tester found the Givenchy creams to be effective at diminishing deeper crow's feet wrinkles. A steep price, yes, and she didn't see any changes in terms of eye coloration or puffiness, but she recommends it as a splurge worth making if you're serious about reducing those wrinkles. "Overall I was quite happy with the creams and their ability to combat crow's feet," she said.
EmerginC Protocell Bio-Active Stem Cell Eye Cream
Cost: $65 Buy online: EmerginC.com What we found: Our tester was very impressed with this cream's revitalizing powers. "Before starting to use EmerginC Protocell Eye Cream I took a good look around my eyes and did notice some small laugh lines and that underneath my eyes was seeming to look quite a bit more purple than the rest of my skin," she explained. "After using EmerginC for only two to three days, I saw the skin underneath my eyes start to look less puffy and to start looking a more healthy looking color. I still can't say much for it changing the 'wrinkle content' around my eyes, but perhaps I need a few more years to develop some more."
Lisa Hoffman Night Eye Serum
Cost: $55 Buy online:Amazon.com What we found: Our tester recommends this offering from Lisa Hoffman as a solid overall product. "I never used eye cream before, though I have used face firming lotion," she said. "This one had a nice, silky consistency and applied very smoothly on the eyes." She concluded that she believes she does look a bit younger now.
Vichy LiftActiv Retinol HA Eye Cream
Cost: $39.50 Buy online: VichyUSA.com What we found: Our tester had a mostly very positive reaction to this product. "I found it to be non-greasy, have good absorbency," she said. "It made the skin around my eyes feel hydrated and look more firm and less tired." The only con in her opinion? "You were supposed to rub the applicator on your eye area, which was kind of painful and awkward," she said.
Tru Renewal Ultimate Eye Repair with Retinol
Cost: $69 Buy online:Ramonasinger.com What we found: From the ever youthful-looking Real Housewife of New York City Ramona Singer, this eye repair cream is from her skincare line Tru Renewal. While our tester did not see noticeable aesthetic effects, she did rave about its soothing qualities. "It has a lovely, light texture, great smell with a slight tangerine scent, and I felt like it really moisturized my eye area," she said.
