The High Bun
Nicole Ritchie, best actress nominee Monique, Miley Cyrus, Rachel McAdams, and Avatar star Zoe Saldana all sported wide based-buns high on the back crown of the head. While most choose slicked back styles, Cyrus raised the bar with her voluminous, textured take on the classic look. The bun was textured, the front was volumized and textured for a youthful take on a timeless look.
How to steal the look
Brushing the hair up and back off the face and creating a ponytail create this sleek look. Position the ponytail where you want the bun to be. Using a brush or a comb, smooth all loose hairs of the ponytail in order to make a neater bun. Twist the ponytail into a tight rope. Wrap the hair rope tightly around the base of the ponytail. Tuck the ends of the rope under the base of the ponytail and pin into place. For a more tousled look, pull and separate hair from the bun with your fingers. Spray with finishing spray.
