From Shock To Chic

Perhaps the most consistent thing about Lady Gaga’s style is its inconsistency. You never know what to expect from the eccentric pop star, but if there’s any constant thread in her style, it’s outrageousness. While many of her ensembles are simply unwearable in the real world, we take a look back at some of her zany outfits and show you trends from them that you can integrate into your own style.

Lady Gaga - On the Fringe

While we don't suggest donning a full-length sheer contraption like this, we are huge fans of simple, solid-colored (not see-through!) dresses in eye-catching colors. A gorgeous electric shade of blue is almost universally flattering. Check out ASOS' Shoulder Pad Slash Neck Body Con Dress ($44.44), which will give you a hint of Lady Gaga's flair for drama with its bold shoulders. Just because Lady Gaga takes the fringe to the extreme doesn't mean that it's totally off limits: Look at the fringe necklaces at Etsy shop Norwegian Wood, which will be reopening in a few weeks.

How to "Lady Gagify" the look:

Cut the top off of a Morticia Adams costume wig; drape gingerly over shoulders. Finish with a pair of night-vision goggles.

I love the beauty editors' notes :) Very cute. Lady Gaga's style is a little annoying. How in-your-face do you have to be? We get it. You're edgy. Now back off!

you just tore apart carrie bradshaw, a fictional character, for her ridiculous clothes some of which were on the show a decade ago. but you praise a woman who makes a character of herself for the ridiculous clothes she wears now. I have nothing against lady gaga's individuality, I like it. But I think it's kind of silly to do a piece like this followed by a piece like the one previously mentioned.
