Jeans are a mainstay that are always in season, but this spring, designers really embraced the trend. "So many designers are looking to American sportswear for inspiration and denim dressing became a strong story," Downing says. And that means denim everything: From shoes to dresses to jackets and even coats. "There are even a lot of fabrics that have been woven and dyed to look like denim," Downing says.
Remember how pairing denim with denim was a definite faux pas? Now, it's in again. So whether you're looking to embrace the new, dressed-up denim looks, fabrics made to look like denim or denim accessories, this spring, jeans are it.
