Lashes to lashes

Whether you're into extensions, lengthening mascaras or lash growth treatments, lashes are hot right now. But jaded consumers that we are, it's easy to see lash growth products as a whole lot of hogwash. Do they work? Are they worth the often steep investment? Before you go out and spend your hard-earned cash, check out our lineup of the most popular brands out there, and what our research has discovered.

Ardell Lash Stimulator

Price: $3.99

What they say: Ardell promises to help repair weak eyelashes and restore thickness to thinning and over-tweezed or waxed eyebrows. It does so with a concentrated serum based on multi-proteins similar to those in the other brands you've heard of, but for less than $4. The serum is brushed onto the brows or lashes and left overnight before being washed off the next morning.

What users say: "I like it and would buy it again," says beauty junkie Vanessa, writer/editor of Nessasarymakeup.blogspot.com. "I think with repeated usage, you will notice a difference. It... enables your eyebrows and eyelashes to grow faster, so to see some results, you must use this for at least a month. I have used it for about two weeks so far, and they are no longer brittle and are a lot stronger."
