This year, as the Christmas invitations roll in, prepare your hostess gifts early to avoid a last-minute run to the store. Whip up some of these easy and inexpensive homemade products, add some festive Christmas packaging and enjoy the party! Your hostess will adore you.

Homemade Linen Spray

Help your hostess beautify her home with this delicious-smelling linen spray (for a fraction of the cost). Use a bottle that has a fine mist to ensure proper dispersion of the spray.

First, find a fragrance that you like by experimenting with essential oils. Popular choices are jasmine, neroli, sandalwood, lavender and rose.

Once you've found a good combo, add the oil to 1 part witch hazel or alcohol (you can even use Vodka) to 5 parts distilled or spring water.

Tie a sprig of lavender around the bottle or put some of the leafs in the bottle.
