This year, as the Christmas invitations roll in, prepare your hostess gifts early to avoid a last-minute run to the store. Whip up some of these easy and inexpensive homemade products, add some festive Christmas packaging and enjoy the party! Your hostess will adore you.

Homemade Tinted Lip Balm

Buy some small pots from acraft or hobby store. Using a clean popsicle stick or spoon, scrape the contents of your favorite lip balm or salve into a bowl and add some crushed blush or mineral make-up.

A little goes a long way, so add the color sparingly. Mix and fill plastic or acrylic pots.

Print out cute labels on your computer and stick them on top. Then place them in a pretty little box, wrap with some ribbon and a sprig of Christmas holly, and voila: you've made an adorable gift for less than $10.
