How to... look fab at your reunion

A high school reunion can be a very fun yet nerve-wracking event. You might want to show off to those who picked on you in high school or maybe you are looking to rekindle your relationship with a high school sweetheart. Whatever the case may be, you can look your best at your reunion by following these helpful tips.

Women at High School ReunionStep 1: Plan well in advance

If you want to lose a few pounds or get into shape, you need to plan a few months in advance of your reunion. Don't go on a crash diet to try to slim down quickly.

Step 2: Check out the invitation

On the invitation, you should see the itinerary of events and get an idea about what you should wear. High school reunions vary from black tie to very casual.

Step 3: Go shopping

Head to the mall for a day of shopping. Bring along a girlfriend who will give you an honest opinion about your choice in outfits. Pick a dress (or other outfit) that flatters your body type. Don't pick anything that is too short, tight or slinky. Don't forget a great pair of shoes. Make sure they are comfortable enough to walk, stand and dance in.

Step 4: Get a mini-makeover

Haven't changed your hairstyle in years? Time to get out of your beauty rut. Head to the salon and get a new do. The right haircut and color can take years off your look. If the event is formal, consider getting a professional makeup artist to apply your makeup for the event.

Step 5: Rent a car

If you are a little embarrassed of your minivan or clunker, consider renting a car for the night to show off in style. If you are going to be drinking alcohol, don't overdo it and embarrass yourself. Definitely consider renting a limo or taking a taxi if you don't want to drink and drive.

Step 6: Be confident

Put on a smile and be confident. Don't be nervous or anxious. Most likely, you are going to have a great time. And if not ... hey, you don't have to see these people for another 10 or 20 years.
