Think pink
Put away your red, bronze and ruby lipstick shades -- it's time to tone the lips down and opt for some subtle pink. Pink lipsticks tend to complement and perk up most skin tones, especially those sun-kissed during the warmer months.
...for lips
"Medium-toned pinks, pale pinks and pink lip glosses are must-have make-up items for the summer season," says celebrity make-up artist, Belinda Moss. She suggests stocking up on pink lipsticks, including soft rose shades for light skins (she likes the subtle color of Softlips Tinted Lip Balm in Rose), pinky mauve colors for medium-skin hues, and pale or bright pinks for dark-skinned women. "When shopping, look for lip tints or cream-textured lipsticks that are not overly shimmery or matte," Moss adds.
...for cheeks
Pinks work well for cheek color too, particularly for light skin tones. A little blush on the apples of your cheeks is all you need. For a little glamour, apply a bronzer on the areas of your face that the sun naturally hits: The forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
Bronzer isn't just for your face. You also can use it to enhance your cleavage without a push-up bra with these tips to make your breasts look bigger.
Shape your brows
To get sexy eyes, start out by shaping your eyebrows. Sexy eyes feature brows with a nice arch that is defined but not too drastic. You can make shaping your eyebrows a whole lot easier by purchasing a eyebrow stencil or shaping kit, which offers an easy way to get the perfectly shaped brow for your face every time.
Get dramatic eyes
You can do a lot of flirting with your eyes, so make them look dramatic and sexy. Moss recommends using a taupe eye shadow across the eyelid and applying forest green or plum eyeliners to the upper and lower lids to help create a beautiful, dual tone eye makeup design. After you apply all your eye makeup, bring more color and length to your lashes by sweeping on brown/black mascara from the roots to the ends.
"A hot eye color really helps balance off the more natural look of lips this season," Moss explains.
To make your eyeshadow last all night, use a primer all over your lids before applying shadow. This will increase the intensity of your eyeshadow and make it last through all the heat drama of the summer months.
Line and curl your lashes
Line your top lashes with a black liquid or ink eyeliner. You can make the line as thick or thin as you like (thicker lines are best for evening). Extend the line slightly past the outer corner and flare it up for a slight cateye look. Use an eyelash curler before applying your mascara for feminine, sexy eyes. After curling your lashes, apply two coats of mascara.
"Sexy" isn't just about makeup and clothes...
It's about your attitude. Stand tall and walk with a confidence; Nothing is more sexy than a woman with confidence. Whether you are looking for a new man or want to re-light the spark with your old one, sexy summer makeup and a positive attitude can help do the trick.
Quick tip
Keep your makeup from melting this summer by using a sweatproof foundation and always carrying blotting papers. If you happen to forget your blotting papers when you are out and about, paper toilet seat covers will work well in a pinch!
