Handbag trends
This spring we will continue to see oversized satchels, totes and hobos, but the standout trend for the season is oversized clutches. Look for kiss lock, envelope and magnetic closure bags in all colors -- even browns -- to make a statement in a big way!

We will also see bright patents in all shapes and sizes. Colors such as magenta, mango, bright green and yellow are among the season's hottest shades. And skins are still in! Snake and croc as long as it's in color – reds, purples, blues and pinks are a must.

This spring looks to be one of the most exciting and colorful seasons we've had in a long time, with a style to suit everyone's personality.

Fashion jewelry trends
Mirroring the accessory trend of wild and vibrant colors in handbags and shoes and the retro 80s look, fashion jewelry is hotter than ever this spring. Look for long layering pieces in mixed metals, blasts of color and gemstones.

The third time's a charm with layered and embellished charms leading fashion's way this season. Look for necklaces and bracelets dripping with colorful charms to spice up your favorite tees and dresses. Go wild for oversized and happy charms to stay on trend this season.

Must-have accessories include going green with cuffs and necklaces that have an organic look and feel. Bamboo-inspired earrings are the season's hottest accessory no girl should be without!

You’re right; a little color does go a long way! I absolutely love the look of layered necklaces. I tend to keep my wardrobe relatively simple, but I always give it a little extra pizzazz by adding great pieces of jewelry! I love being up-to-date on the latest jewelry trends, and one place I always go to for info. is the Jewelry Information Center website. JIC has some really great stuff on all the latest jewelry trends. I’ve been able to find inspiration for some of my favorite (and most stylish) pieces with the help of their Gift Finder. It gives you the option to narrow down all the options by material, occasion style, price, and more. Within my jewelry collection, I have a few pieces that really mean a lot to me, like some necklaces and a ring that my grandmother passed my way. JIC has a section on jewelry care that I have referred to several times when trying to figure out how would be best to clean up some over my older items. One of my favorite parts of JIC website is their Jewelry Stories section; people from all over have submitted their personal jewelry stories on JIC's site as a way to share and exchange the history of their favorite or most valued items. I can really relate to them when they describe how much a ring or a bracelet means to them because even if our reasons for buying them, or stories behind how someone gave them to us our different, they're still the same kind of gift: something permanent, very special and personal. I ended up submitting my own story (feel free to check it out!) -- and was excited to see that because I contributed, I was entered into a contest to possibly win a diamond necklace!! There contest is over at the end of March, so I'd suggest you hop on it if you want to enter. Some of your stories might come very easily to you, others might require some care and time -- either way, it's worth getting your story on there because it truly does inspire others to read. I'm a huge fan of accessories all around, but jewelry is by far the "creme de la creme." Nothing else out there really compares, and it's fun to read about why people buy themselves jewelry as a reward, whether that be because of a promotion, weight loss success, child birth, birthday, or anything else... I love this site and think you will probably as well!
