Get ready for spring! SheKnows has predicted the biggest trends for the season. And ladies, good news: We can expect comfortable-but-chic fashion ahead!
Red cotton dress Cotton dresses
In simple shapes and solid colors, cotton dresses are not only a staple for spring, but year round as well. They are perfect for the awkward transition from late winter to early spring. Paired with tights, high boots and a cardigan, a cotton dress can even be worn in winter weather. Our pick: the various colors of the Baby Rib Cross-Back Summer Dress from American Apparel (shown at right).

Gap skinny jeans Once the weather warms up, couple with ballet flats or leather sandals and accessorize with a fabulous belt and a stack of gold bangles. This look easily translates from day to night with statement jewelry and sky high heels.

Skinny jeans
Many women are frightened of this trend, but keep in mind:  skinny doesn't have to mean super tight. Straight leg jeans work well on most body types and offer a more relaxed and approachable fit.

Check out these straight squared-pocket jeans from The Gap as an example. This style pairs nicely with the pretty, flowing tops that dominate spring collections.

Bright, bold color palette
A high trend at spring runway shows was eclectic -- almost electric -- color palettes. The neon hues of the runway are best executed a few shades lighter, with rich kelly greens, shades of peacock blue and sunny yellows.

In order to translate this look into everyday fashion, use color sparingly. The color this fall was gray, which was easy to wear head to toe -- but with bolder hues, keep things minimal with one pop of color among neutrals. For example, find a chunky statement necklace in bright, bold colors to pair with a simple tan shift dress. (We like this Bright Brass Green Floral Organza Necklace shown at right.)

Oversized clutch
Functionality is key when it comes to handbags. This spring clutches have finally become a lot more functional. SandalsIn oversized, roomier shapes and the fabulous materials that we look forward to every spring, such as raffia and linen, clutches now have room to hold all of your everyday essentials.

Try a structured clutch in a blinding color to incorporate this season's palette with minimal commitment.

Leather sandals
This season, restrict rubber flip-flops to post-yoga and poolside wear only. There are a wealth of lovely leather sandals to choose from this spring that offer sophisticated, effortless polish that old flip-flops cannot. Try a classic leather design in a neural tan or metallic copper that can easily be worn with blacks as well as browns.
