No one is talking about the clothes. Instead everyone is concerned with the concept behind the very unusual poses.
But it turns out there is more to this craziness than meets the eye — it's about uplifting women, revealed Owens in a statement to The New York Times.
"When applied to women, I see that focused vision being more about nourishment, sisterhood, motherhood and regeneration. Women raising women, women becoming women and women supporting women. The world of women I know little about and can only attempt to amuse in my own small way," he said.
Of course, that message was no doubt missed by many because of the awkward positions the models were in (which conjured sexual images for many and just plain confusion for many more) and the fact that they were literally human accessories.
I'm sorry, but the Rick Owens show is ridiculous. It's like something out of Zoolander and all the models look absolutely miserable.— Cristina Kocsis (@CristinaKocsis) October 1, 2015
Rick Owens walked off stage after taking his bow and out of the venue. He didn't want to stay and answer backpack questions.— Matthew Schneier (@MatthewSchneier) October 1, 2015
