We had a bit of déjà vu when we spotted Jennifer Lopez walking down the red carpet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
The American Idol judge — set to receive the Icon Award during the show — walked the red carpet in a gauzy red Donna Karan dress that immediately reminded us of her most famous dress.
You know the one… the green Versace creation that made the world collectively lose it when she walked on the stage at the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Let's see how the two dresses match up: Plunging neckline down to there? Check. Barely-there bottoms that show off her trim and taut legs? Check. Sheer sleeves and beautiful, shiny hair? Check and check. The only real difference is the color. The mom of twins Max and Emme still has the same enviable body she had nearly 15 years ago, too.
Somehow we doubt that the similarity between the dresses is a mistake. Lopez's career took off after the infamous green dress incident.
"When I came onstage with David Duchovny, who was the biggest star in the world then, he said to the audience, 'Nobody is looking at me,'" Lopez told W in 2013. "This loud sound started from the back of the room — it was kind of like a roar, over me in the dress. When I went to my seat, I said, 'What's the big deal?!' [Then-boyfriend] Puffy and Benny [Medina, her manager] were waiting, and they said, 'You have to take pictures in that dress.'"
It's only natural that she marks this award — a definite turning point in her career — with another striking look. To be honest, we like this red dress better!
