It was Mom's big night out at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards! Homeland star — and new mom — Claire Danes won for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
And she looked amazing accepting the award.
The actress opted for an Armani Privé gown, complete with plunging neckline and a chin-length bob. Twitter was abuzz after she made her red carpet appearance — did she cut her blond strands into the short cut? Nope! She revealed to pal Lena Dunham and E!'s Ryan Seacrest that stylists just pinned her hair into a faux bob.
Well, it looks pretty convincing to us!
Danes' simple — yet stunning — makeup really complemented her gorgeous dress. Her makeup artist, Matin Maulawizada, said the idea was to create a "light, beautiful makeup look" for the actress.
Maulawizada first prepped Danes' under-eye area using Laura Mercier Repair Eye Serum ($82). Then, he massaged Danes' skin with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer ($32) to create an "even canvas" for her makeup.
Next, he applied Laura Mercier Oil Free Suprême Foundation in Golden Beige ($45) on Danes' face and Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder ($45) along her jawline. Then, he created a "natural flush of color" on the actress' cheeks with Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Sunrise ($24).
He added a bit of glow to Danes' face by adding Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours in Sterling and Sugar Frost ($26) to her cheekbones. He finished off the look with Laura Mercier Pressed Setting Powder in Translucent ($34) and Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Mod ($24).
Maulawizada wanted to add subtle shimmer to Danes' eyes to contrast with her matte face. He first applied Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony ($23) and Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Noir ($22) to Danes' lash line. Then, he blended Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours in Sterling and Sugar Frost ($26) and applied them all over Danes' lids, up to her eyebrows. He finished off the look by adding a coat of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara ($24).
