Product Review: Xen-Tan Moroccan TanName of product:

Xen-Tan Moroccan Tan (nordstrom.com, $35)

What the product claims to do:

Creates instant color with olive undertones. The self-tan deepens in three hours and has a light tropical scent.

How it worked for me:

Instant dark, deep tan — no orange, no spots.

How this product looks and feels:

It's a dark, chocolate brown with a thin (not quite lotion, not quite watery) consistency.

What I liked about this product:

It smells good, dries quickly and is paraben-free.

What I would change about this product:

The manufacturer suggests wearing dark clothes during application.

Describe the application process, how often you used the product and for how long:

Apply to clean, dry skin with hands or Xen-Tan tanning mitt. Wash hands (or body) with warm water and soap for one to two minutes to remove the instant color. Wait three hours before showering to keep the tint.

Describe the results you saw:

Instantly darker skin, as it was applied. Tan deepened within an hour. Looks natural, not spotty.

I would recommend this product for:

Women with a few hours to spare before a shower.

How I felt about the scent of this product:

Smells good, tropical.
