Jason Wu is only 31, but he's managed to design inaugural gowns for Michelle Obama — twice! — and also serve as the creative director for BOSS Women. What else is there left for him to do?
Create a beauty line, of course!
The designer will launch a limited-edition makeup collection in partnership with Lancôme during New York Fashion Week in September. The collection will start at $15 and will include an eye-shadow palette, mascara, nail polish and lipsticks.
We're getting burned out on all the celebrity and designer beauty collaborations, but this is one collection we're itching to get our hands on — mostly because Wu is incorporating indigo into his eye shadows.
"It's always been a color I've been very partial to," Wu told Elle of why he opted for the striking shade. "If you go back through many of my collections, that shade has been very much present. So when it came down to this beauty collection, I wanted to pick from some of my most beloved hues, and that was one of them."
The Taiwanese-Canadian designer added that a beauty collection is something he's always wanted to do. Lancôme seemed like the natural collaborator for the project, he added.
"Well, in my opinion, Lancôme is the best in the world. They make some of the most high-quality, beautiful products, and they're luxurious. I'm flattered to collaborate with a cosmetic giant like Lancôme," Wu told the magazine. "This line is a true testament to my dedication to the beauty market, because I'm really devoted to this."
The collection will be available in Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman stores this fall.
