Jennifer Lawrence looked stunning at The Hunger Games premiere. Want to get the look? We’ve got the breakdown from hair to makeup.
The hotly anticipated movie The Hunger Games had its premiere this week in Los Angeles. The stars walked the red carpet and no one shined more brightly than the actress who portrays Katniss, Jennifer Lawrence, in a gold Prabal Gurung gown. Want to steal her look? Read on!
Dove celeb stylist Mark Townsend created Jennifer's very on trend braided updo. He created the look by first applying a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse ($4) to Jennifer's damp hair and blow dried with a large round brush. Next, he took 3-inch sections of hair and sprayed Dove Style+Care Thermal Replenishment Spray ($4) on the hair before wrapping it around a 1-inch curling iron.
Then, he sprayed Sally Hershberger Genius Spray Wax ($8) all over to give her hair second-day texture. Townsend took two Jennifer Behr headbands and braided them into her hair, and then pinned the braid into a bun. Townsend says he always sprays Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo ($5) on bobby pins for extra hold. He then finished the look by spraying Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray ($5) all over to keep every hair in place all night.
According to celebrity makeup artist and Avon Global Creative Color Director Jillian Dempsey, Jennifer is "not afraid to wear makeup and [likes] to be daring with her look." The rising star rocks bold, smoky eyes at the premiere, and frankly, she looks fabulous.
To get this look, Jillian put the focus on Jennifer's eyes by lining them with a deep black liner and then layering a gold eyeshadow on the actress' lids. Using a feather brush, she then blended the edges of the liner with the gold shadow. Merging the two textures and colors helped create a multidimensional effect that appeared as a sparkling black. By darkening Jennifer's brows, Jillian further accentuated the eyes and framed her face.
To create Jennifer's sunkissed glow, Jillian used her new Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Perfect Contour Powder in Blissful ($10, available in April) to sculpt cheeks first, and then layered a custom mix of two peachy cream blushes (Be Blushed Cheek Color by Avon in Tropical Peach, $8) and Stila Convertible Color in Peony ($25) on top. This created Jennifer's overall soft, warm complexion.
For a finishing touch, Jillian opted for a nude lip (Ultra Color Rich Moisture Seduction by Avon in Nude Perfection, $7). She applied a lipstain (Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Lip Stain in Coral Aquatique, $32) and then swiped on a nude lipstick to achieve a creamy texture.
