Ali Larter of the Emmy-nominated TV series "Heroes" is taking a stand for real beauty. The beautiful blonde is teaming up with Dove Hair Care to show real women that they don't need a professional stylist to have beautiful hair and to feel confident about themselves.

Ali is skipping all the "Hollywood" treatment as she prepares to walk down the red carpet at the Emmys. For five days prior to the awards show, Ali will use Dove Hair Care products and then she will styling her own hair for the event. "There is a lot of work that goes into Hollywood hair and I want women to know that it is unrealistic for every day," said Larter. "I am going to go out on a limb by doing my own hair for the Emmys without any stylists."

Ali along with Gretchen Monahan, contributor to the "Rachel Ray" show, joined Dove Hair Care on August 21 in New York at a session designed to help build self-esteem in pre-teen/teen member of the Girls Scouts of the USA. Young teenage girls can become very affected by unrealistic beauty images in the media. Ali and Gretchen spoke with the group about hair care and styling tips to help the girls feel more beautiful and confident. You can get involved with this campaign by telling Dove why you love your hair through the Dove Love Your Hair Ad Contest. You can create a personalized ad all about you, showing your beautiful hair.

Six winners will be sleeted to receive all-expense paid trips to NYC and be featured in a Dove Hair Care ad. For every contest entry, a $1.00 donation will be made to support self-esteem workshops for young girl through uniquely ME! -- The Girl Scouts/Dove Self Esteem Fund Program.
