Honey beauty treatments

Is your skin dull and dry from exposure to summer heat and sun? You can bring it back to life with a natural honey treatment. Honey will hydrate and rejuvenate skin leaving it looking and feeling beautiful.

Hydrate your
skin with honey

Honey is a humectant, which means it attracts and retains moisture. It's also an anti-irritant, making it suitable for a number of sensitive skin issues. Christopher Watt, a licensed aesthetician who cares for some of Hollywood's most famous faces, including Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez, suggests the following homemade honey-based regimens for dry skin.

Dry skin moisturizer

Honey moisturizer

This honey-based moisturizer is ideal for your face, but it can actually be used anywhere -- even on your feet.

Makes 2 applications

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons cocoa butter, melted
  • 2 drops bergamont oil (optional)
  • 1 drop lavender oil or tea tree (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together and apply to clean, dry face.
  2. This all-natural moisturizer can be covered and kept in a cabinet, but it will solidify. For a second application, heat in microwave for 10 seconds, stir and apply to skin same as before.

Sweethearts' chocolate honey body scrub

Chocolate honey scrub

For an all-over body treatment, Watt recommends exfoliating and moisturizing with this sweet body scrub.

Makes 2 applications

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/2 cup grapeseed oil
  • 6 Tablespoons unsweetened chocolate, grated (can be substituted with cocoa powder)
  • 2 cups kosher salt

Directions:

  1. In mixing bowl, combine honey and grapeseed oil. Stir in chocolate and salt, mixing completely. Consistency should be grainy and thick.
  2. Apply scrub to skin and gently massage all over body. Remove with warm, damp towels or rinse in shower.
  3. Save the remaining scrub in an airtight container.

my face suddenly got so dry due to some mistakes that i have done, I almost tried everything but nothing could work better than extra virgin olive oil for both body and face after that i apply venusia max cream on my face now I feel much better. Extra virgin olive oil is good for hair, body and face. Never use soap if ur skin is dull and dry. Cetaphil is a good face wash, nmf & aloevera body wash are great for dry skin.

I just tried the body scrub but instead of using grapeseed oil (couldn't find any) I substitued with vitamin e and OMG it's amazing my skin instantly felt so much better. I have dry skin to the max; I scratch it in my sleep and wake up with sores everywhere during the winter (yah not so attractive). So far this has made my skin visibly softer and I hope it helps cure my problem.
