The phonemeic sounds of the name "Ross" are "Rah" and the silibant "s". "Ra" was the name of God in Upper Egypt thousands of years ago, and the name meant "Light". The extended "s" sound is a vibrational sound like the sizzle or hiss of steam as it moves up into the ethers. Thus, "Ross" can be translated as "Ethereal Light". Again, this is from a very ancient perspective and not that of modern-day western interpretation.
