I've always pronounced my name "Justin" because that was how my family would pronounce it (because of their accents and takes less effort to say than "jus-teen"). I didn't really know the 'e' in my name made a difference until sixth/seventh grade because my friends kept on poking fun of me by calling me "Justin" and I always responded normally because that's what I was used to. I'm still not bothered by it and I'd rather people that are close to me call me "Justin" because that's what people close to me called me and people that just get to know me say "Justine".

People loved to teased my name when I was in elementary school and kindergarten. I hated my name so much back then. But I kind of accept my name right now even though it is very awkward when people questioning about my name. But I think that my name is unique and I haven't met with anyone who have the same name as me.

well, I'm also Justine but I'm a guy...my mom named me Justine for reasons I'm yet to know...I've always written my name as Justin while growing up but I've come to like the feminine spelling and accepted it. though people still think I'm a lady when they see my name.

I am Justine (the oldest of these posts) born in '64- I also hated being referred to as Justin in school but that only lasted through puberty and then it was quite obvious that I was a girl! I have grown to love my name, it's quite different albeit not so memorable, been called every "J" name going! I actually went to school with another Justine and know 4 more. I am grateful my parents named me Justine and "vainly" wish for a granddaughter named after me.

I too was named Justine back in 1971. I didn't like it when I was younger because people would constantly mispronounce it or address me as "Mr. Justine B.". It still happens today, but I now love my name since it's very unique. I have met only one other "Justine" who spells it the same.
