Jennifer Broe, founder of Baby Gourmet, wanted to feed her babies food that was healthy but was disappointed and disgusted by grocery store options. Then she did what was soon to become the next hot thing in baby food. She started making her own baby food based on taste.
Specifically home-tested and much-loved family recipes; then launched at her local year-round Farmers' Market in 2006 as a way to help other moms with chaotic schedules feed their babies delicious organic meals (Vanilla Banana Berry Risotto, Old-Fashion Apple Crisp) with no fillers, no added salts or sugars, no nuts or allergens.
After over two years of successful farmer market sales bringing in over $30,000 a month, Jen re-launched Baby Gourmet Canada-wide through major retailers in February 2011, winning rave reviews and phenomenal business. After just 10 months on the Canadian market, Baby Gourmet was available where 75% of all baby food is sold. The brand launched in the U.S in September 2011 and is available at Walmart and specialty retailers.
