Deirdre still can't believe SheKnows pays her to do what she loves. She began telling stories before she could even write. Once someone gave her a pen, there was no prying it away; so a degree in journalism was the only thing that made sense. These days, very few things compare to how much she loves writing, but music, boys and traveling come close. Her favorite memories usually involve a combination of all four. When she’s not "working," she reads war books, swoons over Don Draper, watches West Wing or entertains friends with her wildly inappropriate musings.

For five silly and insightful seasons, Clarissa Explains It All taught us about growing up helped us perfectly define ourselves through fashion and made us long for a best friend like Sam. Five seasons wasn't enough, though. Not for viewers and most certainly not for Mitchell Kriegman, the show's creator.

Does The View pit women against one another? Sure, it does by Deirdre Kaye

My Facebook is erupting with anger and nonsense. A friend of mine who is a nurse is up in arms over The View's Michelle Collins' snide comments about Miss Colorado's take on nursing as her skill during a recent pageant. Is nursing a skill? Definitely. Did Collins agree? Of course not. Friends are posting micro-essays on the importance of nurses and nursing and, obviously, they're right. I'm sure you've seen it.
