The photo was taken by the child’s nanny when they were playing a game of cops and robbers. The photo then fell into the hands of a nanny’s friend, Ed Kayalar.
Kayalar has been charged with trying to extort money from Crawford and Gerber. They contacted the authorities which led to the Los Angeles police department starting a criminal probe. He was deported to Germany in September for being in the country illegally and earlier this month he called Crawford and hubby Randy Gerber demanding the money. Just last week he was charged in federal court in Los Angeles with trying to extort money over the photo.
On November 16, he gave himself in to police. Cops searched his apartment soon thereafter. Kayalar may face up to two years in prison if he is returned to the United States and convicted.
Although the extortion case has certainly made headlines lately, what you may not know is the endeavors of Ms Crawford lately. Sure, she made her mark as a supermodel but the megawatt star has created her own brand. She created Cindy Crawford Style with JCPenney in terms of creating a brand of home furnishings and home accessories. There’s also Cindy Crawford Home, a line of furniture that’s notable for its diversity in a variety of lifestyles.
