Nine million dollars can make anyone happier after a break-up. Don't think Terri Seymour had a gentleman in boyfriend Simon Cowell? Just look at the American Idol judge’s $9 million gift to his ex.

Seymour and Cowell dated for six years and the Extra correspondent, we can only imagine, has had to put up with a lot with the Brit. Cowell had no obligation to give Seymour anything – even under California’s laws that reward long-term relationships regardless of marriage.

There’s a quote flying around from Cowell that describes his pain as he is “off women” after the split with Seymour.

The couple apparently came apart over the issues of babies. Cowell did not want them and Seymour did. Not much any couple can do with that type of division.

Specifically, the funds are to be broken up with $5 million in cash and another ‘up to’ $4.6 million to buy a house in Los Angeles.

Seymour now has nine million reasons to fondly remember her time with Cowell.
