New MacBook: Take a look
Apple, long known for making high-priced (and highly-prized) tech toys is making a foray into the "affordable" marketplace. Their new MacBook laptop computer, which debuted on Tuesday, October 14, is available "at prices up to $700 less than before," says Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Gettin' better all the time
A big selling point of the new notebook computer is that the case is -- well, the bottom part of the clamshell, anyhow -- is made from a single block of aluminum, also known as the "precision aluminum unibody enclosure." This, the company says, takes care of one of "the top three features that MacBook customers have told us they want in a new MacBook." (Personally, I can easily think of 20 things I care about more than a seamless aluminum construction, alas, they didn't ask me.)More understandable is the addition of two other cool features on the latest MacBook model: First, a include a large glass iPhone-esque Multi-Touch track pad, which allows for many more dynamic options than simple point and click. Second, a new Nvidia graphic chip that can speed up video processing up to six times.
The latest model is also eco-friendly -- meaning it meets environmental engineering standards, as well as features mercury- and arsenic-free parts so at the end of the laptop's life, those chemicals don't end up polluting the planet.
