Apparent heroin overdose
Lee Grivas, boyfriend of actress Christina Applegate, was found dead in his apartment July 1 of an apparent heroin overdose.
Grivas, 26, had a long history of drug abuse, which caused his relationship with Applegate to be largely on-again, off-again. A source close to Grivas said,
"Lee also had a long history of drug problems, dating back to his teen years. Christina broke up with him a number of times because of his struggles with getting clean. She loved him, but couldn't stand by and watch him ruin his life."
Applegate is said to be "absolutely devastated over the sudden loss."
The couple met in 2006 while Applegate was performing in “Sweet Charity” on Broadway and still married to actor Johnathon Schaech.
