As SheKnows has been reporting, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have been all over the newswires with their engagement. So what's the deal?

The couple has been together since around April 2007 -- their first public spotting as a couple, a mere two months after Reynolds called off his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette.

"They're both thrilled," said Scarlett’s rep Marcel Pariseau. No further details have been announced.

Reynolds, 31, is (appropriately enough) currently filming “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock.

Johansson is trying her luck as a recording artist by releasing her album of Tom Waits covers, “Anywhere I Lay My Head,” in June and most recently appeared in “The Other Boleyn Girl” with Natalie Portman.

Reynolds was engaged to Morissette forever, so we'll take this news in the day-to-day type mode.
