Easter is right around the corner. If you are looking for a fun dessert to make for your kids this holiday, try this Easter Bunny Cake. The recipe is yummy and easy. After baking and frosting the cake, let your children decorate it with flaked coconut, licorice and jelly beans.
After baking and frosting the cake, let your children decorate it with flaked coconut, licorice and jelly beans. This makes a perfect Easter treat for kids!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  3. Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the shortening, milk, eggs and vanilla.
  5. Mix on low speed using electric mixer for one minute.
  6. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula, then turn mixer to high speed. Beat for 3 minutes.
  7. Pour batter into pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn cake layers onto a wire rack.
