Independent film siren Maggie Gyllenhaal is not only expecting her first child with longtime boyfriend Peter Sarsgaard, but according to People magazine, the sexy couple is also engaged. It is the first marriage for both (and it says a lot about Hollywood marriages that that fact has to be pointed out). The couple met four years ago on the yet-to-be released Steven Soderbergh low-budget film In God's Hands. Although both their profiles are on the rise, they have managed to keep their private lives mostly private. Gyllenhaal, 28, has more than 20 films under her belt, and in 2002 put herself on the map with the movie that brought S&M to the masses, Secretary, for which Gyllenhaal won a Golden Globe. Sarsgaard, 35, has quite an impressive career himself, with 25 films to his credit, including the 2003 film Shattered Glass, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Sarsgaard also starred in the film Jarhead with future brother-in-law (and longtime crush of mine) Jake Gyllenhaal. One thing is certain: No matter whose last name the child takes, it will be a doozy to spell.
